The Blenheim Palace garden, in partnership with Blenheim Palace

This summer, we’re celebrating the great British outdoors in all its glory, and the gardens at Blenheim Palace exemplify exactly that. We have created a garden in the Village that takes inspiration from three of the gardens you’ll find on their grounds: the rose garden, the secret garden and the walled kitchen garden.

The original Formal Gardens at Blenheim Palace are a thing of remarkable beauty.

Covering 150 acres and crafted over the centuries by esteemed garden designers such as Henry Wise and Achille Duchêne, the gardens surround the Palace and includes the majestic Water Terraces, the Duke's Private Italian Garden, the tranquil Secret Garden with all of its hidden treasures, the Churchill Memorial Garden and the beautifully delicate Rose Garden.

01

The rose garden

The original Rose Garden at Blenheim Palace was created by the seventh Duke of Marlborough during his stewardship in the early 1800s. Renowned for its beautiful floral display, especially during the summer months, you can find more than 1,800 fragrant roses in full bloom. Our rose garden is a romantic ode to the variety of vibrant hues you’ll find there.

02

The secret garden

First planted in the 1950s by the tenth Duke of Marlborough, around the time when the palace first opened to visitors, the Secret Garden served as the Duke’s place of escape from the palace’s visitors. It’s recently undergone restoration to protect and preserve the beautiful flora inside.

Our secret garden is inspired by the features of the original, with its curved wire border edging and small dry-stone walls. You’ll also fnd the same plants present, including Acer’s, Chusan Palm’s, Rhododendron’s and Verbena’s.

The kitchen garden

Blenheim Estate has joined forces with food producers, Worthy Earth, to create a regenerative kitchen garden. Here, they grow produce that is used in their restaurants and cafes. Worthy Earth carefully renew and manage the plot, all year round.

Our very own kitchen garden contains potted fruit and vegetable plants, including chilli peppers, lavender, rosemary, strawberries and pear trees.
