Village Careers Frequently Asked Questions
Applying for a role
You can view vacancies at Bicester Village on the Careers section of our website here. You can apply directly for roles that are of interest or connect with our Talent Network to receive notifications about new vacancies.
No, you must have your own online profile in the system to complete a job application. When logged in to your profile, you can apply to multiple jobs listed on the Bicester Village Careers site.
Yes, although we encourage you to narrow your choices down to those positions that truly match your skills, experience and interest.
You can submit your CV or resume for general consideration without applying to a specific position. This places your CV or resume into the recruiting system. You’ll see a Connect with us or Submit your resume link on the Welcome page of the Bicester Village Careers site. Follow the steps through the link to complete your profile.
You can sign up for email updates based on your general areas of interest. You can also submit your CV or resume for general consideration via the link on the Welcome page labelled Connect with the Talent Network.
My profile
You can easily retrieve your login or password on our website here by using the email address associated with your account. Just click Returning Candidate? Sign in here at the top right corner of any page on the career site. You'll be directed to the Login page, where you'll see a link for Forgot your password? Click that link, enter your email address, and then check your email for instructions to reset your password.
If you do have a profile, the system will confirm this once you enter your email address. You'll either be directed to the Login page or you'll be alerted via an error message that your email is already attached to a profile. (The system does not allow multiple profiles with the same email address.)
If you don’t have a profile, you'll be instructed to create a new profile after entering your email address. Or contact us at VillageCareers@BicesterVillage.com to check if you have an existing profile.
Note: Your online profile can only be associated with one email address. If you're unsure if you have an online profile and regularly use more than one email, you may wish to enter multiple addresses on the career site to see if any are attached to an existing profile. Please do not create additional profiles for yourself with different email addresses.
If you're a new applicant, you can create an online profile by clicking Apply for this job online on any listed job and following the steps presented to you.
Note: You are also able to create a profile without applying to a specific job. For more information, review the Can I submit my CV or resume for general consideration, rather than applying to a specific job section of this page.
You can submit your information by uploading your CV or resume (through your computer or through a cloud storage site like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft OneDrive), which allows the Bicester Village Careers site to parse your CV or resume and fill in appropriate fields. You may also wish to fill out an online form, which allows you to enter your information into each field manually. These options are presented to you on the Basic Information page of your application. The information you choose to include will become part of your online profile in the system.
To access your profile, log in to the career site of the organisation you are applying to. After clicking Returning Candidate? Sign in here at the top right corner, you may see login buttons for three social sites (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google). Note: In certain circumstances, you'll also be able to access your social login after clicking the Apply for this job online button on a job.
You can update your information by logging in to your existing profile and clicking the Update your profile button. This will bring up your profile page, where you can make updates to your personal information and/or CV/resume. When finished, simply click Update Profile at the bottom.
For successful parsing, it’s recommended that you put your name and contact information within the body of your CV or resume (rather than within the header or footer of the document). Additionally, it’s not recommended to put important text within tables, text boxes/shapes, images, or annotations.
You can change your profile’s visibility to either only jobs I have applied to or no one can see my profile.
Please email your request to delete your profile to VillageCareers@BicesterVillage.com including your full name and the email address that you used to create the profile. We’ll delete your profile and send you a confirmation once this has been completed.
My application
You can check the status by logging into your profile and reviewing your candidate dashboard. The dashboard will display positions that you've applied for, along with the status of each one. If you have any questions about your job status, you can always contact the boutique that you have applied to.
You can do this through the candidate dashboard in your online profile. In the Actions column, you'll see a Continue Application button next to all jobs in which you have an incomplete application. Clicking this button allows you to continue your application from where you left off. In the Actions column, you’ll also see a Withdraw button next to jobs for which you have a completed application. You can click this button to withdraw your application.
Due to the number of applications a boutique or restaurant may receive, it’s not always possible for hiring managers to respond to all job applications. Therefore, if you’ve applied for a role and not heard back within one month, it may be best to apply for other roles.
Yes, you may reapply for the Store Manager Talent Pool 12 months after your last application to give you the chance to get more experience before trying again. During this time, you’ll still be connected to the Talent Network and will receive updates on roles that match your interests.
If you notice that emails from us are going to your spam folder, you may need to adjust your spam filters. To do this, you’ll need to find the email in your spam folder and indicate that either the message or its sender isn’t spam. This can usually be achieved by selecting the email and then selecting not spam or not junk. Alternatively, contact your email provider for further help.
You’ll be expected to dress appropriately for the day and for your role. Each role and boutique is different so, during your interview process, you’ll be advised of your boutique’s guidelines and whether or not you’ll be provided with a uniform.
