Tiziano Guardini: the designer spearheading sustainable luxury

Purposeful and provocative: Tiziano Guardini is known for vividly colourful collections that draw inspiration from the environment and seek to reconnect us with the natural world – whether that be through the use of tropical forest colours, striking seashell prints or garments crafted from recycled materials.

Having long been interested in fashion, the Italian designer felt compelled to make a career out of the subject after university. “I’ve always been keen on fashion since childhood. I started drawing entire collections when I was an adolescent. After my studies in economics, I felt the need to come back to fashion and start working with it.”

This return to a subject he loved soon evolved into the founding of Tiziano’s eponymous brand – one that bloomed from an art project in 2012 to launch in 2018. It “all began with unique pieces reflecting the concept of eco-couture,” he adds.

This idea of eco-couture follows Tizano’s belief that “everyone has the chance to reconnect with nature through garments,” and is echoed in his commitment to sustainably-sourced materials, such as yarn made from regenerated waste, imitation leather and denim made from organic and recycled cotton. It’s also seen in the stories he tells with his collections – whether that be about the ancestral bond between women and nature, or how small, individual acts can make a difference in saving the planet.

This year, Tiziano showcases his work at The Bicester Collection’s Virtual Creative Spot, which he sees as “a place to find inspiration and collaborate with other creatives.” This newly arrived collection, which is “inspired by a journey of reconnection with nature, and getting in touch with nature in the most mature and evolved way,” provides as much inspiration this year as Tiziano speaks of finding.
