This year, Ingolstadt Village places a theme at its heart that is deeply rooted in Bavaria’s cultural identity: the close connection between design, craftsmanship and lived experience. Under the title Nouveau Bavaria, the Village explores an aesthetic inspired by Munich – a city regarded as one of the historical centers of Art Nouveau.
Emerging around the turn of the 20th century, Art Nouveau pursued an approach that remains strikingly relevant today: art and design were not meant to be confined to museums, but to shape everyday life. Organic forms, floral ornamentation and a strong commitment to craftsmanship came together in a design language that revealed beauty in the ordinary. This idea – design as an integral part of life – forms the conceptual foundation of Nouveau Bavaria.

This mindset is also reflected in the architecture of Ingolstadt Village. Inspired by the industrial architecture of European textile factories from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, clear structures define the appearance of the Village.
At the same time, ornamental details and decorative surfaces set deliberate accents, creating a stylistic bridge to Art Nouveau. The result is an architectural tension in which historical references are not replicated but reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
Ingolstadt Village thus positions itself as a place where fashion, craftsmanship and design come together today – a guiding principle that runs throughout the entire Nouveau Bavaria concept. The brands themselves echo this aspiration: houses such as Lodenfrey, Aigner and Rosenthal exemplify a connection between Bavarian tradition, quality and a strong design ethos.
