ART

Our Village is a colourful canvas for some of Ireland’s leading and emerging talent in art. Explore our open-air gallery and discover delightful Colourama collaborations with renowned artist, Maser, as well as James Kirwan and Shane O’Malley. Watch out for the artists painting live during the summer too!

Maser

Maser truly embodies the centric spirit of contemporary visual art in Ireland. Having created artwork since 1995, over the last 28 years, Maser has earned much respect professionally and has generated a large and dedicated following in Ireland and abroad - through his seamlessly imaginative and unique graphic style.

Having become internationally recognised for his expansive repertoire of contemporary visual art, Maser’s artistic practice includes works on canvas, sculptures, prints, immersive installations, interactive exhibitions and exquisite large-scale murals. His unique, artistic style is usually composed of bold colours, pattern overlays and gestural forms. Maser is ambitious and is unafraid to experiment with any artistic format. Since the outset, Maser has continuously progressed his artistic style and practice, which is firmly rooted in the realm of contemporary Irish Art.

Shane O'Malley

Shane O'Malley, an Irish artist, uses painting to explore themes of perception and how our minds interpret patterns in the world around us. His artwork combines studio-based paintings with large-scale murals created in public spaces.

Shane's vibrant use of colour stems from his background in graffiti. He began painting graffiti in 2001, drawn to the act of writing and leaving his mark, which encompasses both a creative and destructive nature.

He has painted graffiti and murals across Ireland and Europe, exhibiting his artwork in Dublin and Galway. You can view his pieces at the Dean Hotel in Galway, The Hendrick in Smithfield, St. James's Hospital in Dublin, and University Hospital Galway. Born in 1985, originally from Navan, Shane currently resides in Galway city.
