L'Occitane has its beginnings in the markets of Provence, where 23-year-old Olivier Baussan began the business with nothing more than an alembic, a small truck and a solid knowledge of plants. He began distilling rosemary essential oil to sell locally and later expanded production from oils to soaps and creams, taking inspiration from the land he grew up in to bring natural beauty to homes across the world."
