Apple Pay FAQs

• What is Apple Pay?

  Apple Pay is a digital wallet for payments in stores, online or in apps.

• Is Apple Pay secure?

  Yes, it's safe to use Apple Pay. When you pay with Apple Pay, your card number is not stored on the device or Apple's servers. The card number is also never shared with the user location. Instead, a digital card number (called a token) is stored which is encrypted and stored securely on the device.

• How much does it cost to use Apple Pay?

  Payments with Apple Pay cost nothing for you as a customer.

• How do I activate Apple Pay?

  Via the Kildare Village app

  Click Add to Apple Wallet, terms will be shown then the card will add to your wallet.

• How do I pay with Apple Pay?

  You can pay with Apple Pay in all stores that accept contactless payments. Look for the contactless payment symbol. You can also pay in online stores and apps that support Apple Pay. Look for the "pay with Apple Pay" symbol.

• Do I need internet access to pay with Apple Pay?

  No, you do not have to be connected to the internet to pay with Apple Pay. Apple Pay uses NFC (near field communication). It's a contactless technology built into the iPhone and Apple Watch.

• How do I remove Apple Pay?

  If you want to remove a card from Apple Pay, open the Wallet app, press the dots (three) in the right corner, scroll down and click on "remove this card". You can also remove the card by going to "settings" and "Wallet and Apple Pay".

• I've lost the device I registered Apple Pay on, what do I do?

  If you lose your phone or watch, there is little likelihood that your card will be misused since the payment service must be opened with a personal code, Touch-ID or Face-ID. In any case, we recommend that you delete or block the card immediately. You can do this by calling EML customer support on  0121 268 3210
