Over the last 25 years we have made it our mission to seek out and showcase new talent across the globe. The Bicester Collection is committed to supporting these creative pioneers as they propel themselves onto the world stage through our dedicated platform, The Creative Spot.

This pop-up boutique is a joint initiative between Bicester Village and the British Fashion Council to promote talented UK-based designers who hail from all over the world.

Your purchase helps to support these designers, who receive 100% of their respective sales and benefit from six weeks’ free trading. They also gain unique global exposure as well as mentorship to grow their businesses.

Open until 15 June, the boutique offers the rare opportunity to discover and buy pieces – many ethically and sustainably produced – from an exceptional edit of 20 designers who represent the best new talent found in the UK today.

Meet the designers

Alighieri

Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, Rosh Mahtani launched her jewellery collection in 2014. A former mentee of the Business of Retail development programme by The Bicester Collection and the British Fashion Council, Mahtani believes jewellery can be talismanic. Her designs are crafted sustainably from gold-plated recycled bronze through the process of lost-wax casting.

Christopher Kane

A recipient of the Vogue Fashion Fund and no less than five British Fashion Awards, Kane launched his label in 2006 almost immediately upon graduating from Central Saint Martins. The designer made his Bicester Village debut in 2018, upending expectations of luxury with playful irreverence at the BFC Designer Pop-up. Today, his collections include womenswear, footwear, handbags and accessories.

Completedworks

Documenting the beauty and complexity of the everyday through jewellery and ceramics, Completedworks’ signature pieces merge high quality – primarily recycled – materials with purist aesthetics. With a fanbase that includes Adwoa Aboah, Jodie Comer and Emma Watson, artistic director Anna Jewsbury is currently receiving business mentorship from The Bicester Collection.

Cubitts

Modern spectacle and sunglasses maker, Cubitts was founded in King’s Cross, London, in 2013. The company’s handcrafted frames are constructed with custom pins designed by Lewis Cubitt, one of the three brothers who inspired the brand name. Each frame goes through 50 stages of production including four separate stages of polishing, which accounts for their signature lustre.

Eudon Choi

Taking inspiration from art, architecture and history, Korean-born Eudon Choi effortlessly combines masculine tailoring techniques with a meticulous eye for detail to create garments that are unique, understated and intellectual. Since launching his label in 2009, Choi has become a regular at London Fashion Week and made his debut at Bicester Village in the 2018 BFC Designer Pop-up.

Ivana Nohel

Best known for her sumptuous, hand-finished silk scarves, this Prague-born artist and illustrator is a favourite with HM Queen Elizabeth II, with her creations even stocked in Buckingham Palace. Nohel’s multimedia design studio is based in London, where she also produces stationery collections and bespoke pieces for the likes of Manolo Blahnik and De Beers Jewellers.

Mary Katrantzou

Born in Athens, Mary Katrantzou graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2008. Her show – featuring trompe l’oeil prints of oversized jewellery on jersey-bonded dresses – secured numerous prestigious stockists. Benefitting from business mentorship by The Bicester Collection and the British Fashion Council, she has evolved her brand to include innovative fabrics, beadwork and embroidery in structured yet feminine silhouettes.

Mira Mikati

Born in Lebanon, raised in Paris and based in London, Mira Mikati realised her brand as a return to fun fashion, rooting her designs in a melange of smile-inducing detailing and classic tailoring. A gleeful celebration of colour and cartoon graphics, her carefree-meets-cool aesthetic has garnered a cult following among fashion-forward celebs and street-style trendsetters alike.

Mother of Pearl

Mother of Pearl was founded in 2002 to make fashion with “wit, heart and conscience”. A former mentee of the Business of Retail development programme by The Bicester Collection and the British Fashion Council, creative director Amy Powney is an ardent advocate of ethical fashion, with the brand committed to sustainable materials and complete traceability across its supply chains.

Omer Asim

A focus on shape and construction defines the work of this Sudanese designer living in London. Comprising limited-edition seasonal collections, the label was born in 2014 following stints at Vivienne Westwood and Maurice Sedwell. Androgynous and modern, Asim’s creations earned him first prize in the ready-to-wear category at Fashion Trust Arabia 2020, as well as business mentorship by The Bicester Collection.

Patrick McDowell

McDowell is a former mentee of The Bicester Collection and the British Fashion Council and even represented the Collection during Milan Fashion Week 2020. This London-based designer not only creates beautiful clothing but he also redesigns the systems they sit within. As host of London Fashion Week’s inaugural Swap Shop, he works with brands to offer circular fashion and clothing solutions.

Phoebe English

Made entirely in England, this men’s and womenswear label was founded in 2011 on a strong sense of producer responsibility, and sustainability underpins all design decisions. English is a former winner of the L’Oréal Professionel Prize, Ungaro Bursary and Chloe Award and was mentored by The Bicester Collection in partnership with the British Fashion Council in 2019.

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi

Described as “a sartorial traditional clash with a very British sense of tongue-in-cheek chic”, Preen’s debut collection at London Fashion Week SS 2001 put the brand firmly on the fashion map. Designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi are inspired by a mutual love of all things Victoriana, as well as a shared passion for recycling and a fascination with balancing masculine and feminine, hard and soft.

Rejina Pyo

Beloved by the style set for her reimagined approach to everyday dressing, this Korean-born, London-based designer favours individuality over short-lived trends. Vintage tailoring with avant-garde proportions, unexpected pops of colour and infinitely wearable fabrics are all a signature of her contemporary yet timeless collections.

Richard Quinn

Recipient of the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, London-born Quinn honed his skills at Christian Dior and Savile Row before establishing his label in 2017. Specialising in womenswear and printed textiles, the designer creates garments with an edgy couture-inspired sensibility. Signature looks include beautiful florals, sumptuous evening silhouettes and statement outerwear.

Roksanda

Crafted with flair, couture-like details and a contemporary attitude, Roksanda Ilincic’s jewel-hued cocktail dresses and gowns have firmly entrenched the Serbian-born designer within the upper echelons of luxury fashion. Her debut collection at 2005 London Fashion Week ushered in a completely fresh aesthetic and the strong women-centred ethos that has made Roksanda a leading voice in fashion.

Sophia Webster

Internationally renowned footwear and accessories designer, Webster counts Michelle Obama and Emily Blunt as devoted fans. Her collections, which include her signature butterfly winged Chiaras and Rosalind Sandals, have evolved to encompass bridal and children’s footwear, trainers and handbags. Expect kaleidoscopic colourways, hyper-real detailing and playful embellishment.

Tata Naka

When Tamara and Natasha Surguladze graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2000, Barneys New York dedicated a whole wall to their graduate collection. Defined by distinctive graphic prints produced from original artwork created by the sisters, the brand’s dramatically cut skirts and dresses are permeated by a vintage mood, with bright colours and bold silhouettes taking centre stage.
