TwoJeys
Founded in 2019 by influencers Joan Margarit and Biel Juste after a trip along the USA’s famed Route 66, TwoJeys crafts quality jewellery for men. The brand has a clear mission: to be the global benchmark in men's jewellery – and it’s achieving its goal. The Californian-influenced designs and Y2K aesthetic, wrought mostly in silver, have transcended gender, being just as popular with women as they are with men. TwoJeys’ streetwear garments, also stand out for their oversized designs and bold, solid colours. Need another reason to fall in love with the Catalan brand? All its pieces are designed and produced in Barcelona.
The two-star brand has conquered more than its founders’ followers. TwoJeys’ designs have been spotted on Dua Lipa and Jaden Smith, both beloved by Gen-Z.
Castañer
With endless design choices, this summer is all about Castañer’s origins. The brand looks inward to reconnect, rediscover and grow, channelling its skilled craft with its characteristic Mediterranean essence, all while innovating and leading modern footwear trends.
Since the founding of its first workshop in 1927, the Catalan shoemaker has focused its efforts on turning typically rural sandals into sophisticated, exquisitely crafted footwear. With its first big milestone, the creation of the first wedge espadrille with Yves Saint Laurent in the 1970s, the brand went down in history to make this humble shoe a favourite of celebrities and royals both historically and today.
In 1855, four sewing machines were put into operation in New York to produce canvas and denim overalls; the birth of Carhartt. The brand went from manufacturing US army uniforms in World War I to dressing one of stars of Mathieu Kassovitz’s La Haine – and a multitude of rappers like Tupac Shakur. So how did the humble workwear brand reach these lofty heights? In 1994, the licensing agreement to create Carhartt WIP (Work In Progress) aligned Carhartt’s functionality with cultural spirit, courtesy of streamlined-yet-robust patterns that symbolised the ‘90s love of functionality and minimalism.
Carhartt WIP
The "C" in Carhartt WIP is subtly ubiquitous. It lives both in catwalk street style and in skateparks, thanks, in part, to the brand’s famous collaborations – with Junya Watanabe, Marni, PAM, Patta, A.P.C, Sacai and VETEMENTS, to name but a few – and its commitment to promoting music and urban sports.
