Paseo colorido by Mina Hamada

The Japanese-born artist Mina Hamada presents "Paseo Colorido", a site-specific project created for La Roca Village, consisting of several sculptures –Large-sized sculpture,"Pasaje de ensueño"; "Caprichos de verano", a composition of three reduced-format sculptures; and "Paisaje aéreo", various mobile sculptures – which which are placed at the Village. This project is part of The Creative Spot, The Bicester Collection's platform for supporting art and creative talent.

It is thanks to the balance of her works that Mina Hamada is today one of the great representatives of international urban art. In contrast to the harshness of the streets, her work conveys softness, emotion, and a rhythm that breaks with the brutality of the everyday landscape. Mina's works and murals invite you to a dream world, combining West and East, young spirit and deep philosophy. The titles of her works, sometimes in Japanese, Spanish and English, reflect this poetic self-analysis and refer to her own identity and the exchanges between different cultures that she personifies.

“When I was thinking about the project, I wanted to add fun and a touch of fantasy for this summer. For "Paseo Colorido", I have created works full of colours whose shapes you could imagine in the world of fantasy and dreams. The idea is that when you walk through La Roca Village you come across the works and make your steps lighter, as if you were listening to music, despite being surrounded by people,” Mina said about this project.
