How to practice mindfulness

Life happens right now, here and in this moment. Yoga teacher Sabrina Wanner shows how to perfectly integrate mindfulness practices into everyday life to bring the mind back to the Here and Now.

Perception with our senses is the anchor when we get caught up in our thoughts and feelings. Especially in everyday life, we quickly lose touch with ourselves and let ourselves be distracted and guided by the outside. Through mindful perception you can reconnect with yourself.

You can do the exercises from home or even on the road when you are stressed or your thoughts are going crazy.

Mindfulness means being aware of the moment in the here and now.

01

Smell

Now turn to your sense of smell. Take in all the smell impressions that surround you. What do you smell? Breathe in and out consciously and notice all the smells.

02

Feel

Now turn your attention to your body. How does it feel at the moment? Focus your physical sensations on individual parts of your body and feel how your face and muscles slowly relax in the process.

03

Taste

Finally, focus on your sense of taste. Time constraints and hectic schedules in particular tempt us to eat too quickly, too much and the wrong things. With more mindfulness when eating, you can integrate balance, well-being and enjoyment back into your life. Next time, take more time to eat, calm down and allow yourself to escape from the hectic everyday life for a short while.
