Dr. Martens™
Everyone knows the name of the eight-eyelet boot with grooved soles and yellow stitching, but few are familiar with its history. In the 1960s, Dr. Martens became a staple for the working class and London’s music scene – which was dominated by punk at the time. However, its origins date back to the 1940s, when Klaus Maertens, a German army doctor, designed his own footwear as part of his uniform. After arriving in England, subcultures like Teddy Boys and musicians like Pete Townshend of The Who helped turn the boots into the global icon they are today.
One of its most coveted styles, the cherry-red, eight-eyelet 1460 came to life due to a production error. The boots were originally meant to be black, but a shipment was accidentally sold without being painted and... the rest is history.
Barbour
The late Queen Elizabeth II was a prominent advocate of the brand's practical and functional style. So much so that in 1974, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, granted Barbour the honour of becoming a Royal Warrant holder.
From mail-order catalogues to being a symbol of the British royal family and Glastonbury Festival circa 2007, Barbour is renowned in many circles. Founded in 1894, this British brand has always been the epitome of English countryside life. Its dark green waxed outerwear was initially designed for fishermen and hunters – functional clothing with no fashionable flair – until the 1980s, when public figures like Princess Diana started incorporating it into their wardrobes. From there, it gained popularity with music stars, insiders such as Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller and through collaborations with leading industry brands GANNI and Roksanda.
Founded in 1960 in Rome by Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino is a symbol of crafting excellence, creativity and uniqueness. The Maison continues to inspire individuality by redefining the values of mastery and emotional beauty that are deeply intertwined with its roots as the most established Italian Maison de Couture.

Her style is instantly recognisable: urban and relaxed, with bohemian-inspired cuts and details. A laid-back spirit that translates into slouchy trousers, washed tie-dye denim, romantic puff-sleeve blouses, sensuous jumpsuits, oversized knit sweaters and thigh-high suede boots – a house classic.
The most rebellious French fashion house, Isabel Marant is passionate about materials that live and travel. The designer draws inspiration from every corner of the world to revitalise urban fashion with a sense of whimsy. Isabel dresses women for real life, whether riding a motorbike or strolling down the street. No garment leaves her workshop without her trying it on first. A blend of creativity, seduction and hedonism, Isabel Marant is an ode to life’s sublime disorder.
