“I’m very inspired by the eighties and denim on denim is my vibe,” says Bhawna, of her first look. Contemplating her love of the decade, she cites her sartorial icons – Diana Ross for her “edgy glam” and Grace Jones for her “angularity, sharp jackets and androgyny.“ “That’s really my style,” she muses. And, to complement her double-denim ensemble? All-blue accessories, because "I’m big on monotones...the beautiful nautical bag and oversized tonal sunglasses – I loved it.”

No wardrobe would be complete without a palette and print to match the uplifting summer mood, and this vibrant combination was a collaborative effort between the two stylists. “Purple was just her colour,” reflects Jamal, who brought his intimate knowledge of the Village boutiques to help style the looks. “I thought it worked out really well,” Bhavna says, recalling the moment of surprise when Jamal picked out a pair of white boots to offset the silhouette, which she wouldn’t have otherwise chosen. “It just made it funky.”

Contemporary, cool and covetable, the third look was an ode to biker chic. ”The jacket was fantastic, it was white, and we added beautiful denim Bermudas – it was biker all the way,” Bhavna says. “And I loved the sneakers because they were super comfortable.” On the overall sensibility, Jamal describes the vision, “we wanted something disruptive, something she would never wear. She’s very feminine and yet she was convinced by this boyish look.”

Leaning into a romantic mood for the season and her sartorial DNA, Bhawna chose a vivid maxi skirt paired with a Choli-inspired cropped top, complete with a back tie, for her fourth and final style. "This is my boho self all the way,” says Bhavna. “I loved the whole vibe, with gladiator sandals tied up, a printed skirt and a backless top. It was very feminine.” Jamal agrees, “so sexy yet chic... unbeatable,” and all finished with statement oversized shades, naturally.
