People Help The People, TVBOY

“Every human being has the right to emerge”.People Help The People is TVBOY’s collaboration with EMERGENCY, an NGO providing free, high-quality care to people affected by conflict and poverty. This work adorns the life support boat, which is used to rescue people in the Mediterranean Sea and represents the gesture of reaching in an attempt to emerge from the waves, as a sign of humanity and fraternity.

Save Planet Earth, TVBOY

TVBOY was shocked by the Australian fires in early 2000, which led to millions of tonnes of extra CO2 in the atmosphere and the consequent worsening of the global warming crisis. Save Planet Earth raises awareness of the need to maintain biodiversity and regenerate nature. Its message is clear: "We take care of the planet; there is no alternative".

Non Recyclable Waste, TVBOY

Non Recyclable Waste demonstrates that hate symbolism cannot be turned into something new. "There are symbols that are part of the past and cannot be recycled”, says the artist.

Rise Above, TVBOY

After the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey, TVBOY collaborated with an NGO to raise funds for Syria. In Rise Above, the artist wants to remind us that “even in the worst of tragedies, hope breaks through, and in the midst of the ruins a flower grows". The chosen flower, the tulip, is a symbol of Turkey.

Together Against Hate, TVBOY

This simple statement highlights the principle representing togetherness and compassion when standing against hate.

Unlock Her Future, TVBOY

Unlock Her Future shows a young girl painting her own future. It’s TVBOY’s representation of DO GOOD by The Bicester Collection, which aims to unlock the future for women and children, wherever they’re born, raising awareness in the fight to end child marriage.

The Influencer's Kiss, TVBOY

The Influencer’s Kiss is a reinterpretation of the iconic V-J Day in Times Square by Alfred Eisenstaedt, in which two strangers – a sailor and a dental assistant – are photographed kissing in celebration of the end of World War II. TVBOY's reimagination reflects the modern attitude of social media documentation, with the artist commenting: “The historical period changes, the fashions change, the technologies change, but love endures.”

Save The World, TVBOY

Save The World reopens the debate on the ‘Greta’ generation, the new wave of climate activism and the limits of protest. The movement has led paint attacks on museums and walls – but in this piece, it’s translated into a play on words: save the walls? Or save the world? In the artist's words: "This collective’s demands are very legitimate; we have to establish an agenda against climate change."

Plastic Sea, TVBOY

The Mediterranean Sea’s plastic pollution has been exacerbated by the pandemic, with surgical masks posing a new threat to the oceans. TVBOY sent an SOS from Catania, Sicily, with Plastic Sea, saying: "We only look at the surface of the sea, but underneath lies an underwater world of pollution – hence the idea of fish protecting themselves by wearing masks.”

Love is blind, TVBOY

Depicting a kiss between two football fans – one FC Barcelona and the other Real Madrid. Although the clubs’ rivalry is well documented with each El Clásico, for TVBOY, the message is clear: “love is blind and can overcome barriers.”

My Future, TVBOY

This ode to freedom reminds us that every woman has the right to decide her future and her choices, with simple wordplay reframing a woman’s choice to take ownership of her life.

My Two Dads, TVBOY

Coinciding with Father's Day, TVBOY denounced the limbo faced by families with same-sex parents following the decision to block the registration of same-sex couples’ children in Milan. My Two Dads, where a child paints his new home, “It is a reflection of the new normal: that parents can be of the same sex.”

Paper Boat Dreams, TVBOY

Created in Florence, April 2021, after reading an article, Paper Boat Dreams is about a boy shipwrecked in the Mediterranean Sea who sewed his school grades to his clothes, convinced that his good grades would be his best passport to the future. TVBOY imagined the story in reverse, as the concept of a boy who gives his marks to the European Parliament with a failing grade in ‘Solidarity and Refugee Rights’.

Future is Female, TVBOY

Future is Female is a message of empowerment and inclusive gender expression dating back to 1975. This slogan has endured through the decades and is now re-emerging as an empowering statement for all.

Purple Rose, TVBOY

Purple Rose is an ode to women's empowerment. In TVBOY’s original Barcelona mural, the rose appeared with a broken iron ball: a metaphor for liberation from the chains of machismo.
