Summer essentials inspired by Empordà
Lavender fields and lemon trees
Take outfit inspiration from Europe’s finest flowers, from Provence’s lavender fields – host to Jacquemus’ Spring/Summer 2019 catwalk show – or the Instagram-worthy Flowers by Bornay installation in the Village. This particular display drenches the Village boulevards and balconies with Empordà’s finest floral produce.

Rural romance
Embrace Empordà’s outdoor dining culture at Atmósferas Mordisco or the newly arrived Iluzione from 5 June. Or, embody the region’s rural surroundings with stone, yellow, ochre, and terracotta colours, evoking images of medieval villages and sprawling farmland.

Slow and sustainable
Timeless collections and responsible consumption remain the only ‘trends’ when it comes to slow fashion. From ba&sh’s bestselling Teddy shoulder bag, which is ethically manufactured each year, to Sita Murt’s striped shirts which work for every season, shop sustainable pieces with some of your favourite Village boutiques.

The basket bag
Whether made from straw, jute, wicker or raffia, the summer essential that best represents Empordà style is undoubtedly the basket bag. Perhaps the most coveted edition of this pan-seasonal piece is the Loewe basket bag, in palm leaf and leather, which works for beach days and work trips alike, all year long.

Nearby nature
This summer, nature once again provides a significant source of inspiration for fashion collections. Palm tree prints and floral patterns transform our wardrobes into an oasis, much like the Village – just 40 minutes from Barcelona – home to palm, orange and olive trees, as well as an array of Mediterranean flowers.
