From breath-taking city skylines to rural parks, explore the best of Dublin and neighbouring County Kildare in this three-day trip.
Day 1

Located in one of Dublin’s historical Georgian squares, the luxurious Merrion hotel is a great option for city breakers with cultural hotspots – The National Gallery, Grafton Street (famous for shopping) and the Golden Mile (a stretch of lively pubs) – all only a stone’s throw away.

Catch the Dublin bus to Phoenix Park – one of Europe’s largest enclosed public parks – where children will love the playgrounds and wild deer spotting.

Come evening, enjoy great food and incredible views overlooking the Liffey at Ryleigh’s Rooftop Steakhouse. End your day by calling into one of the city’s best-loved pubs – choose between The Long Hall, The Gravediggers (AKA John Kavanagh’s) or Dublin’s most famous watering hole, Temple Bar.

Even in the summer, Irish weather can be unpredictable. Pack a showerproof jacket to layer over your summer silhouettes while you’re exploring.

Day 2

Head west on a 35-minute train to County Kildare, where a shuttle bus will whisk you to Kildare Village. You’ll be greeted by beautifully-decorated facades, exciting new openings from the likes of Columbia and moreish ice cream flavours from Murphy's.

Just next door is the Irish National Stud, home to some of the most magnificent horses and century-old Japanese gardens. Don’t miss the dedicated children’s play area and fairy trail.

Before heading back to Dublin, enjoy dinner at the award-winning gastropub Hartes of Kildare. Its home-brewed beer and menu of hearty dishes with a modern twist give you a taste of cutting-edge Irish cuisine.

Day 3

Take a picturesque cruise with Dublin Bay Cruises from Dublin to Howth. Away from the bustling city, Howth is a charming coastal village, home to castles, beaches, fishing spots and walking trails.

Known for its scenery, the Cliff Path Loop is hard to beat. Taking around two hours, you’ll see spectacular views of Lambay Island, Ireland's Eye and Dublin Bay as you make your ascent.

Back in the village, enjoy your pick of the cafés and restaurants, all serving up fresh, locally caught seafood. With exquisite views of the harbour, Aqua is perfect for special occasions, while the Brass Monkey offers a less formal (but equally delicious) tapas experience. Don’t miss the award-winning chowder.
