Gianluca Longo styles casual glamour

Casual Glamour is an “all-Italian” way of dressing

In recent years, sneakers have taken over as the shoe of reference - even to be worn to the theater; leggings have overtaken the 'pair of jeans' as the bestselling item of women's clothing - to be worn even to an important party; technical fabrics and nylon are now used by designers in all their collections - masterfully mixed with luxury fabrics and tailored cuts.

It is all in the mix: today the fun game of fashion has reinvented itself thanks to innovations stolen from sportswear and techno wear. And it seems to be working fine.

The tracksuit matches well with a sophisticated shoe, or even a stunning heel, while a double-breasted pinstripe is worn with a hoodie and a pair of sneakers!

Long life to fantasy

And no one is better at mixing it up than the Italians... even the most sporty garment or accessory becomes elegant, in a natural way.

Fidenza Village's collections for this Spring Summer seem to be designed specifically for the Casual Glamour style.

Gianluca Longo, is the Style Editor of British Vogue and the Style Director of The World of Interiors. He styles the magazines' fashion and interiors pages, and and writes about design and lifestyle.

Thanks also to his extensive and restless travels around the European Capitals, visiting museums and exhibitions, from an early age.

His 22-year long career in magazines has exposed him to the best of fashion and design and he has worked with some of the best photographers in the industry. Gianluca has also worked as style consultant for luxury brands such as Tods, Ginori 1735, Ralph Lauren, Dior and Tory Burch. He sits on the executive board of Oxford’s Pitt Rivers Museum, he is part of the Press Committee of the British Fashion Council and he is in the Advisory Board of Fashion Trust Arabia.
