‡Corporate gifts​

• Treatment for income tax purposes​

Gifts to employees do not follow the general rules and are therefore not considered entertainment expenses. In fact, expenses incurred in cash or in kind as a gift to employees are deductible from the company's income. For the employee, the enrichment caused by the employer's gift constitutes taxable income, with the exception of goods given and services provided free of charge up to the annual limit of €258.23.

• VAT treatment​

In the case of goods or services not produced or marketed by the enterprise, VAT is never deductible at the time of purchase, even if the unit value of the good is less than €50. Consequently, the subsequent supply is outside the scope of VAT Article 2 Presidential Decree 633/72.
