Architecture inspired by Verdi's operas
Fidenza Village is an architectural tribute to Giuseppe Verdi, born in 1813 in the nearby town of Roncole di Busseto. Each area of the Village draws its design from one of his timeless operas: monumental columns and a tower reinterpreting the lighthouse of Alexandria evoke Aida; crenelated profiles and pointed arches inspired by medieval architecture recall Don Carlo and Il Trovatore; coloured majolica tiles on a Moorish double portico bring Othello to life; German fortress-style defensive towers take inspiration from I Masnadieri; and frescoes of rural life beneath the rooftops recall Falstaff and Macbeth. Completing the journey, the Berzieri area pays homage to the celebrated Liberty-style thermal baths of Salsomaggiore, designed in 1923 by Florentine architect, painter and sculptor Galileo Chini. A shopping experience that is also a scenic journey through Italian history and culture. Discover Verdi's Architecture.
